Designed in collaboration with Antonio Durao, these super lightweight Nike SB Team Classic Premium Shoes offer a seamless connection between your feet and your board through the use of high quality leather which creates a smooth sidewall within a streamlined, all black silhouette. Top stitching across the uppers strengthens key areas around the front of the toes and encases perforation, whilst on either side of the foot overlayed Swoosh tick emblems have a subtle university red coloured border on the outside of the shoe and pacific blue on the inside. These continue into a layered panel around the back of the heel where a bright university red leather strip has been added with ‘SB’ initials printed on top. Ensuring a secure fit around the top of the foot, the cotton lace up fastening has all black components with a leather border and sit upon a cushioned tongue, which works in harmony with an internal bootie. In celebration of Durao’s Portuguese heritage, the sockliner has a custom design that shows the famous Galo de Barcelos icon, a brightly coloured rooster, with additional ‘Nike SB’ lettering added onto the base. The outsole has been designed to offer flexible, multidirectional grip for a smooth ride with a patterned tread and inserted blue Swoosh tick for signature branding.
Portraying pro rider Antonio Durao’s Portuguese heritage, the Galo de Barcelos emblem seem on this edition of the Nike SB Team Classic Premium Shoes represents the famous story of the ‘O Galo de Barcelos’ (The Rooster of Barcelos) which is a symbol of good fortune. The vivid university red accents continue to portray the story across the upper whilst flexibility is at the forefront of the design and the smooth sidewalls help to deliver a consistent flick. Minimising break-in time for wear straight out of the box, the lightweight finish works in harmony with an internal bootie that keeps the foot in place.
