Nike SB Orange Label

Nike SB’s Orange Label project continues in the summer with the first model designed by a team rider, the Bruin Ultra ‘Ishod’ shoe was released at the end of summer with uppers crafted from a combination of mesh and suede that equal a split aesthetic across a black on black and medium olive colourways. No stranger to designing Nike SB footwear, the style was imagined by professional American skateboarder Ishod Wair who uses his own personal taste and lifestyle for design inspiration.

The beginning of 2019 saw Nike SB establish their first range of footwear within their Orange Label release as part of the #supportyourlocalskateshop initiative. The first release came with premium black nubuck uppers - available in Bruin, Blazer Mid, Dunk Low, Dunk Mid and Gato silhouettes. The Orange Label Part 2 release revealed styles with full white leather uppers, accented with contrasting black Swoosh ticks and subtle safety orange details which emphasize unique branding within the series.

Influenced by Nike SB’s origins and crafted specifically for skateboarding, upgraded performance details run throughout each design and work to enhance your ride with the help of Nike Zoom Air cushioning and auxetic construction; each silhouette looks to

offer varying levels of focused support and will suit individual preferences.

Flashes of safety orange seen on the lace aglets pay homage to the brand’s origins, reflecting their distinctive block colour packaging, with their bright orange shoe box which was introduced in the 1970’s. The orange theme continued with the inception of Nike SB in 2002 with the first ever shoe box a two tone split of orange and raw cardboard. For this latest project a modernised eco-conscious shoe box has been chosen and bears a slightly rotated Nike SB logo - subtle in its execution - but developed especially for the Orange Label release.

In addition to this, independent stores are promoted via the ‘Support Your Local Skate Store’ programme which means Orange Label styles are only available exclusively through selected skate shops situated across the UK and US. Further releases will continue to showcase the best designs within skateboarding footwear, alongside Nike SB’s brand history which draws in elements from a variety of sports to capture performance orientated craftsmanship, resulting in an elevated skate experience.
