Vans continue to demonstrate the impact of their heritage whilst highlighting the importance of working with those in the know across new summer arrivals. Marking a momentous career with Vans that spans 20 years, a limited-edition Vans Chukka Pro, created in partnership with Danny Wainwright, has been introduced with a classic monochrome character and detailing that demonstrates his extensive knowledge of skateboarding as a pro skater, graphic designer, co-founder of Fifty Fifty skate store and Vans team manager. As another notable release for the season, the Vans Style 36 Shoes have been co-designed by Justin Henry who opted for a revived 1977 silhouette to add custom graphics too, inspired by his time spent volunteering within numerous skate communities.

Earlier in the year, in the celebration of a new Rowan Pro, Flatspot teamed up with Vans to hold the fourth Civic Jam within an unused space within the heart of the Civic Centre in Plymouth. As one of the most anticipated releases of 2019, the Vans Berle Pro Shoes continue to lead the way when it comes to offering performance-focused features within a classic low-cut silhouette that captures the Santa Monica skater’s roots and personal taste whilst refreshed editions of models within the Vans Pro Skate Classics such as the Vans Authentic, Old Skool, Half Cab, Sk8-Hi and the Slip-On are forever-favourites with signature WaffleControl, Wafflecup, Duracap and UltraCush features.

Few brands in skateboarding can claim such a legacy as Vans; the Californian born company is synonymous with the laid-back skate vibe, which of course is something that is embedded deep in their origins. The first Vans store opened its doors in 1966, founded by none other than brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren. Originally the Van Doren Rubber company, known for creating #44 deck shoes which later became the Authentic and was re-released as the Vans Authentic 44 DX Anaheim Factory, which emulated the original.
