Nike SB P-Rod Dunk High Premium Shoes

Carrying a collaborative design that pays homage to pro skateboarder Paul ‘P-Rod’ Rodriguez’s Mexican heritage and love for boxing, the Nike SB P-Rod Dunk High Premium Shoes have premium white leather uppers edged with bold red piping and a custom tri-coloured outsole. Showcasing Rodriguez’s love for the sport, an ornate ‘World Champion’ boxing-style belt lock sits across the laces above a perforated toe vamp and incorporates faux diamonds in between ‘XV. SB’ initials. A similar design can be seen within a large woven black and gold label positioned at the top of the tongue which has lettering that mimics that look of tags found on boxing shorts. The full white lace up fastening helps to keep the foot in place and on the outer side of the foot leather Swoosh ticks are coloured in red on the right shoe and green on the left with white on the inners. Around the back of the heel white leather tabs aid entry with neat curved stitching below coloured in green, white and red.

For protection during demanding skate sessions, the ankle collar is highly padded and a Zoom Air unit sits within the sockliner for a springy responsive fit. For additional character, either sockliner features a custom photographic print design showing Rodriguez’s hands within red boxing gloves. Presenting the Mexican flag once more, the tricoloured rubber outsole features a full cupsole stitch for a flexible and durable feel with a circular tread that delivers reliable multidirectional grip. Each pair arrives within a multicoloured shoe box with spare green laces.

For anyone who has been following Paul Rodriguez since he joined Nike SB in 2004, you’ll be aware of the many milestones the pro rider has achieved throughout his career, including appearances within Tony Hawk video games, multiple gold medals at the X Games and the launch of his own brand ‘Primitive’. In 2018 a major knee injury and surgery led to a hiatus but now having made a full recovery - documented in ‘Road to Recovery’ filmed by Alan Hannon - P-Rod is back at the top of his game.
