season tees such as the Earthtrax, Tornado, Hothand and Power T-Shirt are all styled with subtle reference to nostalgic rave culture and ‘90s eccentricities, whilst the patchwork sleeved Blockhead Hoodie and Topo Jacquard Sweatshirt are styled with classic sportswear at the heart of their creative yet practical design. For admirers of archival work shirt stylings and resilient 8-wale cord constructions, the Corduroy Shirt Jacket is an all new seasonal silhouette styled with a comforting nylon taffeta lining and a heavy duty finish well suited to any demanding setting. Headwear staples such as the iconographic Power Cap and statement Letterman Cap are joined by knitted variants such as the all-acrylic Arthur Striped Beanie, whilst premium hardware decks such as the Ply Deck and abstract print Dallas Man Deck follow on from last season staples to honour the Ohio-based brand’s break-free design style and their creative ties to the iconic Mother Collective.

A nonspecific - but distinctive - aesthetic has been developed since the brands inception in 2015. You’ll find reworks of classic cartoon characters, bold colour strokes and carefully sourced old school imagery across staple silhouettes. Breaking free from producing standard screen printed tees, a focus on texture through combining print techniques results in intriguing details and noticeable quality. Collaborations with Nike in 2017 and 2018 boasted exclusive limited editions that followed a super clean finish with notable skate tech throughout.

Seeing a new creative opportunity, the same team that brought us Mother Collective (which unfortunately had to shut down) has ventured onto new ground bringing forth a similar, independently minded focus that gives no space to corporate propositions. Run by Chad Bowers alongside Jake Johnson, Tyler Bledsoe and Gilbert Crockett, Quasi is based in Ohio and operates on a ‘when it’s right, it’s right’ design basis. If a sense of force or fall in drive arises, you’ll see the guys take a hiatus until inspiration strikes again, ensuring the brand isn’t just for sales sake.
