Updated with a new outsole that provides an improved level of grip and reinforcements that have been updated to withstand repetitive impact and wear that comes with skateboarding, these black and grey New Balance Numeric 288S Shoes have been designed in collaboration with pro team rider Jack Curtin. Built with durable suede uppers with subtle perforation along the top of the toe vamp and on the outer sides of the foot, a 4-way stretch mesh sock-like inner collar is at the core of the design and helps to keep the foot stable and secure whilst in motion. On either side of the foot the New Balance ‘N’ emblem has been cut from white and black leather for a bold look and a red synthetic label sits at the top of the tongue and shows Numeric 288 branding.
At the back of the heel a red and white woven loop features golden ‘Senayan’ text which references Curtin’s time spent in Jakarta, Indonesia where he met a team of skaters who introduced him to skating and ultimately led to his career. Throughout the inside a custom sockliner has a water ripple effect with bold Jack Curtin lettering in black and the Indonesian flag, whilst a grey C-Cap midsole sits underfoot for impact support and boardfeel with a short pop of yellow and blue in between. The tread has a detailed pattern which provides grip across a variety of terrains.
Inspired by popular lifestyle trainers, this latest colourway across the New Balance Numeric 288S Shoes has been constructed using ultra durable construction methods with suede and mesh that stand up to repetitive wear whilst also providing a streamlined, stylish finish. As the latest clip from New Balance, in celebration of this model Jack Curtis has been filmed riding about on the sunny streets of San Francisco putting the shoe to the test.
