Based in Chico, California, the brand was founded by three siblings after one of them was greatly inspired by American author and environmentalist Julia Butterfly Hill talk about an ever-growing problem of plastic water bottles. Alongside their business, the team behind Klean Kanteen are actively involved with community based products and are members of the global 1% For The Planet movement, as well as being official supporters of the Surfers Against Sewage 250 club.
