Dickies Prestonburg Shirt

Presenting their own take on a classic workwear shirt style, this Prestonburg Shirt from Dickies has an all over red, blue, mustard and black plaid pattern and is made from brushed cotton dobby flannel for a soft and insulating finish. The front is fastened by small black buttons which lead to a pointed collar neckline and a black woven Dickies horseshoe label has been attached further down the button placket. On the left side of the chest a large patch pocket has been added with a flap closure and a single button fastening, whilst over the right shoulder a matching fabric overlay adds a unique touch. Both sleeves have wide button cuffs and single button fastenings which allows the fabric to be rolled to suit.

A new style for autumn/winter ‘19, Dickies have reworked the classic plaid shirt whilst maintaining the designs origins within durability and warmth through the use of a cotton dobby flannel decorated with a yarn dyed check print. Originating in Wales, plaid shirts were developed to provide protection from the elements during harsh winters and were later used by the military before gaining popularity within fashion during the 1950’s.
