Converse x Pop Trading Company x Miffy JP Pro Hi Shoes in Black, White and Egret. Inspired by Dick Bruna’s Nijntje legacy and arriving as part of Pop Trading Company’s follow-up Miffy release, the Converse JP Pro Hi receives a youthful remastering influenced by nostalgic reference and skate-specific functionality. Styled with reinforced uppers crafted from premium cotton-canvas, these high-top skate shoes feature the iconic Jack Purcell ‘smile’ across the reinforced off-white toe-bumper that displays custom ‘Pop Trading Company’ branding, whilst the CX foam sockliner and traction-orientated rubber outsole remain true to classic Converse CONS tradition. Extended foxing wraps around the midsole to complement the rubberised toe-cap, with the colour-contrasting bartack stitching bringing an added layer of elevation to this design. A tighter-fit pairs well with a winged, internally-illustrated tongue and a metallic 9-eyelet lacing system, whilst interior-wall ventilation eyelets are in keeping with Converse’s classic courtside design. The exterior-facing side-walls are decorated with custom balloon-wielding Miffy print detailing, whilst crisp-white ‘POP’ quadrant detailing decorates the interior-facing collars. Collaborative two-tone Converse CONS x Pop Trading Company block-tone insoles seal the design, whilst the split-profile ‘POP’ and ‘Converse CONS’ debossed heel license plates bring additional texture to the JP silhouette.
Following on from SS19’s initial Pop Trading Company x Miffy release and Pop Trading Company’s previous Jack Purcell Pro Hi and Ox drops in partnership with Converse CONS, the Converse x Pop Trading Company x Miffy JP Pro Hi is a three-way instalment which pieces together nostalgic reference with respect to contemporary skate-centric function. Odes to performative function are maintained, whilst fun-loving subtleties and youthful undertones mark these sneakers as a design that hosts no boundaries.
