Edited by Tom Bird and designed to paint a picture of the current skate scene in Palestine, the SkatePal Cookbook is a colourful hardback featuring recipes, interviews and photographs from across the region.  

Founded in 2013 by skater Charlie Davis, SkatePal is a non-profit organisation that continues to support communities throughout Palestine through the process of building skate parks, running skate classes and providing hardware. Promoting the social, health and wellbeing benefits of skateboarding to enhance the lives of the local youth, SkatePal has continued to provide educational and sporting opportunities to those in need. A sport that was ultimately something new to the state, SkatePal’s projects have continued to grow, with their purpose built Rosa, Inash Al-Usra and Jayyous community skate parks supported by on-going classes held both at the Sareyyet Club in central Ramallah and back in the UK at Stoke Newington’s Akwaaba social centre for migrants.
