Polar Skate Co.

With the arrival of Polar’s latest spring ‘20 collection comes an abundance of fresh new stylings, custom artwork and seasonal colour palettes that are not only reflective of the Malmö-based brands fun-loving energy and creative direction, but also remain true to their ‘90s inspired undertones. Helping to provide re-worked breathability alongside the warmer months, this new season sees the return of lightweight fabrics such as nylon mesh, polyester and thin chino to help supply optimised longevity through to the winter. The Callistemon Fill Logo T-Shirt breathes fresh floral vibes into the range featuring custom artwork by founder Pontus Alv and classic white on black stylings throughout, whilst the understated Default Hoodie offers forward statement colouring in desirable shades of mint, Egyptian blue and black. Re-worked in appealing shades of sage and stand out police blue, Polar’s much-loved ‘93 Cord Trousers mark their return with their 8-wave cord construction, semi-baggy fit, playful vibes and their trendy day-to-day aesthetic.

It goes without saying that there's an abundance of fresh artwork included in the range from the likes of Pontus Alv, Jacob Ovgren

and guest artist Tynan Kerr. A mixture of themes express each individual artists own creative style, with more light hearted work from Jacob Ovgren who heads up Polar’s art department and monochrome snapshots from early Polar videos designed by Alv alongside Kerr’s expressive abstract work.

The middle of summer saw Polar Skate Co. join forces with Nike SB to design a distinctive footwear style that revived an ‘80s classic the Tinker Hatfield Air Trainer 1 alongside a Blazer Low GT. Accompanied by ‘Polar Rico’ a collaborative video featuring the likes of Nike Boserio, Dane Brady, Oskar Rozenberg and Emile Laurent. As one of the most distinguished skate clothing brands on the scene each collection is driven by art, culture and Alv’s personal skate scene which stretches from Polar’s home of Malmö, to other parts of Europe. Experimental skate movies such as ‘The Strongest of The Strange’ and ‘I Like It Here Inside My Mind, Don’t Wake Me This Time’ have had a prominent impact upon the industry and have inspired many to develop their own style that incorporates influences from outside of skateboarding.
