Insulating, bulk free and made from 100% recycled polyester knitted fleece, this black Better Sweater Jacket from Patagonia has been cut to a regular fit with a zip through front and a raised collar neckline. Ideal for layering, the 10oz fabric has been dyed using a low-impact process and is bluesign approved so no harmful chemicals have been used in the production process. For full shoulder and arm mobility the sleeves have been cut to a raglan shape which will also reduce chafing under a backpack and soft shape-holding micro polyester jersey has been added to the cuffs and hip length hem of the body for abrasion resistance. On the left side of the chest a zippered chest pocket offers space to carry a phone or wallet and on either side of the waist two additional pockets are also available. Adding signature branding to the design, a small multicoloured woven label sits alongside the chest pocket showing the famous Patagonia mountain range logo design. For additional comfort, flat-seam stitching has been used across the design to reduce bulk and chafing.
A go-to style if you’re seeking a good level of warmth without bulk, the Better Sweater Jacket carries Fair Trade Certification throughout its construction meaning whoever made the style has been paid a premium for their labour. Due to the nature of the knitted fabric that has been used for this design, you may experience pilling after repetitive wear. You can easily remove the pills using a sweater stone or shaver which will help to keep the style looking fresh.
