Kavu

Continually inspired by their own ethos of ‘enjoy because fun has no season’ autumn/winter ‘19 sees Kavu rework throwback styles with new fabrics that cater to colder temperatures and a need for layers. With a distinctive old school ‘90s vibe that taps into the brands history, the Teannaway Fleece Sweatshirt features contrasting pocket, placket and sleeve details against vibrant patterned and colour block fabrics that enhance the look of a casual fleece style. A selection of 100% organic styles include the short sleeve Klear T-Shirt and Klear Crewneck Sweatshirt which have each been manufactured using earthpositive techniques using only green energy from wind and solar power. The Spectator Hip Bag has a plush teddy-bear style fleece outer that offers a fun take on a staple accessory whether you’re climbing, hiking or exploring a city.

Prior to the brands official launch, founder Barry Barr had the desire to create a cap that would stay put no matter what the weather. After losing his conventional baseball hats to the wind during fishing trips he began to develop a new headwear style with a crown that

could be tightly secured and would mould to fit different head shapes. Named the Strap Cap and introduced as Kavu’s first design, the hat remains a core accessory within each seasonal collection and is an iconic style within the outdoor industry.

Founded in Seattle in 1993, Kavu promotes a life full of adventure and fun through collections of apparel and accessories designed to take on adventurous lifestyles. With a clear formula for living - ‘build fun into everything you do’ - the brand has an authentic approach to design and uses their outdoor wear and purposeful accessories to promote a good-time attitude. The Kavu team includes the likes of air sport enthusiast Jeff Shaprio, one of the world’s leading climbers Steph Davis and expedition whitewater kayaker Tyler Bradt. Supporting their passion for time spent in the great outdoors, Kavu has a clear spirit in protecting the planet and do this through improving their sourcing, manufacturing and packaging systems to reduce waste, use of resources and environmental impact.
