Frog Skateboards

Designs from Frog Skateboards are never easy to explain but what you can expect each season is an array of playful, imaginative and childlike illustrations enhanced by vibrant colours across apparel, accessories and skate decks. The I Love Energy T-Shirt is a key piece from the latest release that features all over screen prints whilst the Gift From The Moon T-Shirt presents a photograph of a sculpture designed by Frog team rider Kyota Umeki. If you want to support Pat Gallaher in his quest for cuteness take a look at the Pat G Quest for Cuteness 8.5” deck which has double sided decoration.

Jesse Alba brought a recurring joke to life to create Frog Skateboards and continues with the same lighthearted approach to each design and skate video which is made by a team of friends in New York City. Pleased with comments such as ‘my 5 year old cousin could design that’ when it comes to reviewing new releases Alba wanted to design small

drawings that hadn’t been used or seen before in the skate industry and was fully into the fact that they keep getting more ridiculous over time. After skating all day whilst being sponsored by various companies, Alba would joke all night with friend Diego Meek about starting a skate brand called ‘Frog’ - printed t-shirts were the first things to be made with skate decks following around 6 months later. Having moved to New York to pursue the idea of being an artist, Alba uses his natural interest in art and experience in designing playful zines to design each graphic alongside Chris Milic using a combination of Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop.

With an impressive team of skaters like Jesse Alba, Chris Milic, Pat Gallaher, Luis Ouida and Hjalte Halberg featured as a guest pro in a new edit, who knows where Frog is going to take things but we’re sure it’s going to be interesting.
