Isle Skateboards

Founded in 2013 by pro skateboarders Paul Shier and Nick Jensen, Isle Skateboards is an independent London based skate label that has become known for its highly creative graphics developed by co-founder Nick Jensen and creative director Chris Aylen. Each release includes an array of contemporary apparel styles adorned with custom artwork, designed by the creative duo which often has an abstract look and a considered use of colour. Inspired by Girl, Chocolate, Alien Workshop and Toy Machine, the duo follow a considered approach to design that includes inviting individuals from outside of skateboarding to collaborate for a different perspective. Both Shier and Jensen have their own impressive list of achievements alongside running Isle - Shier scored his first sponsorship deal aged 21 and Jensen is a

successful fine artist - which directly influences each release of apparel, accessories and stand out 7-ply maple skate decks.

Having both skated for Blueprint Skateboards the duo decided to team up to start Isle after the brand ceased which was fronted by an impressive team of riders including Tom Knox, Chris Jones, Casper Brooker, Sylvain Tognelli and Jon Ngyugen. In 2015, their first full length video ‘Vase’ displayed the brands vision to blend art with skateboarding and combines the two perfectly with street shots paired with Super-8 style shots of experimental studio arrangements. Having now expanded to support the likes of Remy Taveira, Darius Trabalza and Mike Arnold, Isle have maintained a slow but steady approach to expansion that remains focused on time and energy being put into personal artwork and their team.
