Yardsale Spring Deluxe Collection
Having launched from a desire to bring something new to the international skate scene, founder Daniel Kreitem and Yardsale continue to do just that throughout each seasonal release. Often referencing vintage hand-me-down clothing from his uncle, designs incorporate nostalgic sportswear aesthetics with high quality materials, and for their ‘Spring Deluxe’ collection, a distinctive array of casual streetwear styles include heavyweight crewnecks, quarter zip sweatshirts and velour cord jackets. Apparent across feature films, marketing and social platforms, inspiration is regularly taken from Los Angeles and Miami in the 1980’s, a time where pastel colours, geometric shapes and distinctive typography were championed across all elements of design.
Made from a combination of 100% combed cotton with an additional fabric lining for a heavyweight finish, the clear turquoise waters of Miami Beach have been captured in the fern green edition of the YS Embossed Crewneck Sweatshirt. Double white, striped ribbed trims offer a distinctively heritage sportswear look whilst the crossover neckline brings fluidity and sits slightly wider than common styles; allowing for experimentation with layers underneath, whether this is a graphic tee or raised collar top. Embossed for a subtle yet effective look, a spider plant graphic has been brought back for this season and incorporates Yardsale initials, seen also on the left sleeve through colourful layered embroidery.
Fit for Partridge himself, the Alan Velour Cord Jacket is the ultimate sports casual style with fine wale polyester corduroy diamond inserts against lustrous velour. Reminiscent of retro tracksuits from the ‘70s, both the ruby and navy colourways feature a raised neckline which offers a comfortable edge and protection from the elements, whilst also being easy to fold over to a pointed collar for a more refined look. Slanted zip secured pockets at the waist follow the shape on the fabric inserts and the Yardsale script logo has been embroidered in white above for signature branding. Sadly there’s no matching trousers as of yet.
A crossover between a staple leisurewear style and pullover shell, the Sunscript Quarter Zip Sweatshirt is a defining style from the Spring Deluxe release. Designed with marl grey inserts on the inner edge of the collar neckline and along the top edge of either sleeve, contrasting black piping accentuates the casual silhouette. Tapping into the uniform of terrace wear, the quarter zip front offers a variety of styling options when layered or worn above a t-shirt, whilst an embroidered sunset graphic continues to highlight ongoing influences from the sunshine culture of Los Angeles in the 1980’s.
