Still Moving: Lou Salasca

Part of still moving, a winter series exploring movement when things get quieter.

Winter shifts the pace.

The days narrow. The noise thins out. What remains begins to repeat, and in that repetition the work finds its rhythm.

For Lou, movement moves between spaces.

In the studio, hands return to clay. Pressure, balance, patience. The same gestures revisited until they settle. Attention sharpens. Imperfection stays in the room.

Then there’s the coast.

Walking, watching, waiting. The horizon widens. Breath becomes noticeable. Time stretches differently. Movement slows, but it doesn’t stop.

Making and moving aren’t separate. What one space teaches, the other carries forward. Weight. Timing. Knowing when to push, and when to let something be.

Some days are for shaping.
Some are for contemplation.

Still moving.
