Nike SB x Skate Like A Girl Dunk Low

A celebration of unity and social justice, Nike SB partners with non-profit organisation Skate Like A Girl for their latest capsule. Founded in 2000 and based around the Pacific Northwest, Skate Like A Girl is a community centred project empowering individuals through a promotion of confidence and leadership through skateboarding. Included in the capsule is a selection of co-designed apparel and a Nike SB Dunk styled in suede with custom embroidery and illustrative details.

Supported by brands including YETI, Jessup, Thrasher and Spitfire Wheels, Skate Like A Girl continues to inspire skaters, especially young women and/or trans people, to grow into strong and confident community leaders. Valuing the nature of experiential learning and civic participation, the non-profit focuses on creating programs and safe spaces for skaters of all backgrounds and abilities to enjoy. Known for their Skate Camps, Shop Hangs and Community Meetups, Skate Like A Girl created a safe space for 5,542 skaters in and around the Seattle area in 2021, with a further 140,000 individuals supported by their growing catalogue of free online content.

 

Following on from their recent collaborations with the likes of non-traditional skate community froSkate and female owned skate shop KCDC, as well as from their iconic ‘Not Here By Luck’ mini series, this Nike SB Dunk Low is styled with supple suede uppers and cord-like details across the padded collar and exposed foam tongue. Styled in shades of burgundy and off-white, this classic cupsole skate shoe also features a perforated toe box, Zoom Air cushioning, a gum rubber outsole and a circular underfoot tread. The puffy and interchangeable laces are fashioned with custom ‘Skate Like A Girl’ aglets, whilst the Dunk Low tongue label features co-designed branding. Textured fabric Swooshes detail each midfoot, whilst embroidered ‘Nike’ and handshake heel details are paired with custom illustrative insoles for a creative twist.

 

This capsule is joined by a collaborative skate part titled ‘Transenders’ that explores how the power of community inspires us to be our true selves, overcome failure and transcend fear. Directed by Diane Russo Cheng and featuring skaters such as Alexa Berriochoa, Alyssa Johnson and Osha Brown-Bear.

The draw opens on Wednesday 19th October 2022 at 17:00PM (BST) and closes on Thursday 19th October 2022 at 08:00AM (BST). You can enter the draw here.

Limited to one pair per person. Available to UK residents only.

Winners will be chosen on Thursday 18th October 2022 at 12:00PM (BST) and we will aim to confirm both successful and unsuccessful entries within three hours. Winning pairs will start shipping Friday 20th October 2022.

For each release we will invite those interested to enter a draw to purchase prior to the products actual designated time of release. Card payment will be required to register for each draw and your payment will be authorised but the funds not taken by us unless your name is successfully drawn at the designated time and date of the actual release.

If you are unsuccessful in the draw the pre-authorisation will be voided and your funds released, it may take up to five working days before you see your funds available in your account again.
