Nike SB x Neckface Dunk Low Pro

A graffiti artist with a passion for dark humour, the macabre and both heavy metal and latrinalia influences, Neckface partners with Nike SB once more for his latest co-designed Nike SB Dunk Low Pro. Drawing similarity to the aesthetics associated with heavy metal vests, this Nike SB skate shoe is designed with all-over graffiti patches composed of bats, tombstones, demons, skulls and more.

Born in ‘84 and LA based, Neckface is a prolific artist and skater whose ties as art director at Baker Skateboards has helped his work in erupting internationally since the early ‘00s. Leaving New York’s School of Visual Arts in 2004, Neckface’s signature design style is one born from curiosity, a passion for the unconventional and from a fascination with old school snuff magazines. Known for his inter-city tags and also for his gallery appearances at institutions including LA’s MOCA, the New Image Art Gallery and the Dactyl Foundation in New York, Neckface is an artist often likened to Banksy and Jean-Michel Basquiat, whilst his arcane narrative is one that continues to push boundaries and challenge the contemporary norm.

Nicknamed both an evil genius and skateboarding’s twisted son, Neckface’s latest Dunk Low Pro follows on from his original SB Dunk High and Nike SB Blazer Mid that marked the start of his work alongside Nike in 2013. Featuring black suede uppers with woven-on artwork patches, this Nike SB x Neckface Dunk Low also features three removable patches for additional customisation. Styled with a perforated toe box, a full length cupsole stitch, an integrated Zoom Air unit and a black rubber outsole with a circular underfoot tread, this sneaker also features a woven ‘SHOCKERS’ flame tape displayed across the left shoe’s exterior facing midsole. Puffy laces secure the custom designed ‘Nike SB Dunk Low’ tongue in place, whilst a miniature Swoosh features across the medial quarter and traditional embroidered ‘Nike’ branding is detailed across each heel. Finished with exclusive flame logo printed insoles and with all-over characterised patches that honour the artists’ darkened aesthetic.
