Nike SB Orange Label PT4 by Oskar 'Oski' Rozenberg
Graduate of the infamous Byrggeriet ‘skateboarding’ High School in Malmö, Oskar Rozenberg - nickname ‘OSKi’ - has become known for his light-footed agility, speed and spontaneity which have earned him two winning titles at the Vans Park Series World Championships, the European Skateboard Awards and notable parts in Polar Skate Co.’s We Blew It At Some Point’ as well as the more recent ‘Polar Rico’ for Nike SB x Polar. Continuing to go from strength to strength, this two part Nike SB footwear release, as part of the ongoing #supportyourlocalskateshop Orange Label Project adds to his many milestones and captures Oskar’s own unique style and spontaneity through two very different, distinctive shoe designs.
Opting for a shark themed aesthetic across the Nike SB Orange Label Dunk High Pro ‘Oski’ the black nubuck suede uppers have a subtle texture and a matte finish for a high quality look whilst reimagined Swoosh ticks on either side of the foot add a playful detail with a sinister edge showing monochrome sharks with blood tipped teeth. Signature features have been added throughout to cater to support and comfort whilst skateboarding but it’s the smaller details that bring out the best of the design such as red tip lace aglets, the half embroidered, half leather design of the sharks and a red foam window on the outsole which mimics a pool of blood. The tongue is highly padded to help support the foot and a woven wrap over label features stylised ‘OSKi’ lettering below a Nike SB logo to signify the collaboration.
With a completely different take on a staple Nike SB footwear model, the Nike SB Orange Label Blazer Mid 'Oski' has an old school ‘70s inspired look with muted bronze coloured corduroy uppers, burnt sienna suede accents and a supple leather lining around the inner edge of the ankle. The hi-top silhouette is fastened by a full length colour matched lace up closure that threads through matching eyelets for a low key finish. Around the back of the heel an insert accentuates large stylised ‘OSKi’ embroidered lettering with a high shine finish in celebration of the pro riders nickname. Crisp sail gum rubber outsoles complete the design with a textured surface pattern and additional protection around the front of the toes helps to prevent abrasion from repetitive impacts.
As the latest footwear styles to be designed as part of the Orange Label project both Nike SB ‘Oski’ models are only available through selected skate stores. Launched in 2019 the Orange Label project focuses on redesigning some of the most favoured skateboarding footwear models from Nike SB using premium materials and upgraded finishes that tap into the brands DNA. Team rider Ishod Wair was the first to be selected to design a pro rider style with a split mesh and suede aesthetic and this Oskar Rozenberg duo hints at the future direction of the range with a more playful approach.
