Nike SB Dunk Low Pro 'Laser Blue'
A like-for-like colour block homage to an iconic colourway from the ‘90s. Following in the footsteps of the Orange Label Dunk Low Pro AM90 ‘Infrared’ from last year that coincided neatly with the Air Max 90’s 30th anniversary, this latest revision turns its attention to the laser blue colourway that once captivated the market in 1990. Celebrating classic Air Max 90 character with respect to the Dunk Low’s illustrious courtside heritage, this latest Nike SB Dunk release acts as a merger of two of the most iconic silhouettes to date.

Originally released in 1990 and proactively designed by visionary genius Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max III was swiftly renamed the Air Max 90 due to the pivotal role it played in the ‘90s era music culture and streetwear revolution. Following on from ‘87s Air Max 1 break through, a design ultimately inspired by the architectural intricacies of Paris’ Centre Georges Pompidou, the performative Air Max 90 effectively played to the sensibilities of the market with its neon trims and its chunky, multi layered aesthetic. Unmistakably marking the start of Nike’s transition from its founding sportswear remit into the world of street and leisure wear, the Air Max 90 remains a firm favourite that's undoubtedly assigned to ubiquitous ‘90s aesthetics. Released at the same time as the OG fiery infrared colourway in 1990, the classic laser blue AM90 design finally receives its Dunk Low Pro debut in 2021, a year after its timely 1-1 Nike Air Max III release from last year.
Styled with premium leather uppers in referential shades of neutral grey and bold black, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro AM90 is a replicated release that continues to focus on both its classic courtside design and its proactive skate-centric reinvention at its core. Low collared and styled with Nike’s innovative Zoom Air unit built into the heel, this full length cupsole stitched sneaker features a brushed white textured midsole and a laser blue rubber outsole styled with a grippy circular underfoot tread for heightened all terrain function. The breathable mesh toe box provides increased circulatory airflow to the design as it feeds up into the padded ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Pro’ embroidered tongue, a feature borrowed from the Air Max 90’s infamous Duromesh underlays, with its multi-textured aesthetic another tribute to the AM90’s patchwork design style. Shaggy suede side wall Swooshes elevate the quarters to bring additional depth to the silhouette when paired with the bold black eyelet overlays, whilst the puffy and interchangeable laces complement the recessed 7 eyelet lacing system to provide a snug and secure fit to suit. Laser blue trims across the tongue are mirrored across the insoles and rear collars, whilst the black stitch ‘Nike’ embroidery keeps the profile’s iconic Dunk Low lineage in mind throughout its archive inspired AM90 rehash.
