Nike SB Invert Dunk High Pro Premium

Delivering a creative spin on the classic Boston Celtic’s colourway, these exclusive colour-block Nike SB Invert Dunk High Pro Premiums arrive as yet another artistically-inclined instalment to the never-ending rosta of 2020 Dunks

Loyal to its ‘Inverted’ namesake, the profile hosts a quad-tone colourway that mixes Lucky Green and White leather on the medial sides with textured Pink Rise and Black suede across the rest of the design. Similar to the Nike SB Blazer Mid, the Nike SB Blazer Low GT and the Nike SB Janoski Remastered from the same ‘Inverted Pack’ family, these rehashed Nike SB Dunk High Pro Premiums are inspired by the filter-flipping tonal function available on most mobile devices. When activated, the current colourway is inventively inverted across the digital display, switching the medial Celtic’s colouring to lay across the main proportion, with the contrasting pink and black transferring to take its place. Honouring Nike’s passion for original fashion and function, the upturned nature of these game-changing Dunk’s is something that pairs digital innovation with revolutionary street-inspired desire.

A colourway that originally debuted back in 2002, before the Dunk’s up-take by Nike SB and after the highly anticipated Dunk High LE’s release in 1999, the Celtic colouring is one that honours both sporting tradition and creative expression. With its ties to the NBA and its multi-textured appearance, these mix-match Dunk Invert High Pro Premium shoes effectively stitch two entirely different sneakers together to celebrate one unique profile. Textual overlays and multi-faceted trims aren’t something new when it comes to discussing the iconic Dunk silhouette, with the similarly styled Dunk High ‘Dog Walker’ and the Dunk Low Grateful Dead cashing in on the reviving trend of tactile tailoring both in 2019 and earlier this year, while the obvious odes to complimentary colour-blocking harks back to Nike SB’s infamous QuickStrike VNTG Blazer pack from 2011.

Shaggy rough-textured suede and classic full-grain premium leather link up to curate the mixed-media minded uppers of these off-the-mark Dunks, while the split-tone vulcanised outsole remains ever-loyal to its basketball roots to ensure exemplary boardfeel, traction and multi-terrain function from first wear. When glancing across the outward-facing sidewalls, durable suede composes the entirety of the perforated toe-box and just the exterior section of the 9-eyelet lacing system and swoop-back Swooshed side-walls, while the interior-facing lateral section puts its classic two-toned leather look to good use. The padded and meshed ‘Nike SB Dunk High’ tongue is carried forward from its early 2002 muse, whilst the puffy rounded laces are designed to ensure noted structural support regardless of setting. Custom Zoom Air insoles complement the design’s impact-resistant cushioning and innovative sockliner, with the well-padded ankle collars signed off with a four-quarter brown, white, pink and green mirrored aesthetic across the rear that honours the design’s playful energy and its inverted artistic appeal.
