Nike SB Blazer Mid Pro GT QS

A throwback colourway that honours the 2015 ‘Trails End’ ACG Air Mowabb and Atlanta-born team rider Grant Taylor’s undying appreciation for the great outdoors, the Nike SB Blazer Mid Pro GT QS combines hiking with skateboarding to celebrate Nike’s archived ACG collection in true style. A rugged dual-textured composure boosts the profile’s robust sense of character, whilst the skate-specific trims hone in on Nike SB’s ever-apparent commitment to sportswear tradition.

Following up on his classic yet characterful collection of Blazer Low’s, Grant Taylor turns his attention to his own self-confessed love of Nike’s ‘89 launching ACG line for his latest collaborative release. Inspired by the collection’s trans-seasonal functionality and its militant approach toward the ‘natural extremes of wind, rain and snow’, Nike SB and Taylor pair past with present to curate a sneaker well-suited to any taxing terrain. Originally debuting back in 1991, the ACG Air Mowabb was the product of Tinker Hatfield’s unfathomable appreciation for Utah’s Slick Rock and Poison Spider Mesa regions of Grand County’s Moab, with the tech-led profile’s multifaceted appearance making it a go-to style no matter whether worn court or cliff-side. Fast forward to 2015 and creative mastermind Hatfield’s OG ‘style solution’ ACG Air Mowabbs resurfaced in a decidedly earthy ‘Trail End Brown’ colourway that pairs rugged beaten-track vibes with pops of neonised colour to deliver a subtle yet striking ode to old-school pack gear and sporting solution. Snatched up by Taylor for a skate-specific revival that pairs the instantly iconic Blazer Mid profile with a grittier sense of appeal, these quickstrike Blazer Mid Pro GTs take a shot at challenging conformity to deliver a well-rounded profile that’s set to adhere to any chosen path in life.

Built to manage the demands of any energised skate-style or explorative excursion, these prism violet and trails end brown Blazer Mid Pro GT QS Shoes from Nike SB are designed with durability, responsiveness and endurance in mind. Buttery soft brown leather uppers pair with reinforced canvas trims to provide all-round protection that pays homage to classic outdoor climbing boots, whilst the built-in foam sockliner, Zoom Air unit and the black-speckled rubber midsole pivot the profile towards its skate specific goals. Seen before on the Nike SB Janoski Mid ‘Speckled Sole’ Shoes and the similarly named Nike SB Trainerendor, colour-matched speckled foxing tape fuses the outsole to the upper to deliver consistent flick and cushioned comfort from first wear, whilst the exclusive tightly woven ballistic-mesh heel and raised collar delivers exemplary structural support and increased stability where and when it’s needed. Interchangeable hiking-style rounded laces complement the recessed 10-eyelet lacing system to keep the padded neoprene tongue securely fastened across the natural arch of the foot, whilst the iconic ‘ACG’ triangular tongue tab branding is switched out for commemorative ‘GTP’ branding to honour Grant Taylor’s latest pro silhouette. Across the midfoot side-walls, black-rubber Swooshes wrap around and fuse together across the heel, whilst the padded prism-purple neoprene cut-out collars across the ankle are playfully signed off with raised ‘Nike’ rubber branding for a textural twist that honours throwback All Conditions Gear (ACG) aesthetics.

Joining Nike SB in 2014 with the release of his signature cargo khaki Blazer Low, Grant Taylor remains no stranger to the footwear game. Opting for the ‘73-hailing Blazer as his silhouette of choice, Taylor continues his honourable 6 year legacy well into AW20 with the release of yet another pro model to match his recently released black sail and starfish coloured low-tops.
