Nike SB Acclimate Pack

Focusing on the parallel ideals of ‘Lost & Found’ and ‘Protect & Adapt’, Nike SB’s self titled Acclimate collection for FW21 turns to seasonal narratives for its muse. Inspired by the aspect of ‘acclimating to the change of a new environment’ with respect to current environmental discussions and to inspiration taken from a winter in Copenhagen, the Acclimate Nike SB clothing and Nike SB skate shoes merge the aspect of explorative storytelling with an appreciation for unassigned all-season design.

Combining admirations for sport, culture, colour and style, Nike SB’s Acclimate pack lends its creative eye to the aspect of adapting and modifying existing stylings to better suit the transitioning climate. Offering a selection of Nike SB clothing and two outdoor inspired revisions of the iconic Nike SB Blazer Mid PRM, this release is one that breathes a refreshing sense of multifunctionality to both wardrobe essentials and arguably one of the most favoured skate silhouettes to date. Although focused on skate, the pack also finds itself assigned to the Nike Jordan Brand’s recently released Air Jordan 1 Acclimate; a rugged take on NBA pioneer Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker styled with soft Sherpa fleece advancements and a weatherproofed shell that finds itself similarly styled to other re-celebrated revisions such as the Nike Air Mowabb from 1991 and the hybrid Nike SB Dunk High Boot that debuted back in 2016.

Ultimately taking a leaf from their ACG (All Conditions Gear) book, Nike SB tackles the transitioning seasons with two new winterized revisions of their favoured Nike SB Blazer Mid PRM silhouette. Available in jade smoke and an earthy noble green variant, the classic courtside mid skate shoe has been proactively redesigned to deliver increased functionality, durability and reliability across the colder months. Interchanging its narrative from skate to suburban functionality, noted hiking boot references are apparent, with the hiking style cord laces complemented by exposed midfoot and collar zig-zag stitching for a rugged yet refined sense of appeal. Tonal auxetic outsoles are neatly styled to honour each patchwork inspired profile, with the brushed suede and ballistic cotton canvas uppers combining for a dual layer of protective coverage. The Nike Blazer’s classic underfoot tread makes light work of challenging terrains when both on and off the board, with the cushioned foam insole, the integrated Zoom Air unit and the fully vulcanised construction fusing to create a broken-in feel that remains loyal to the design’s comfort first blueprint. Both profiles feature a bold black leather Swoosh that fuses across the rear of the felted collar, whilst the padded tongue beneath the recessed 10 eyelet interchangeable lacing system is signed off with two orange and black ‘Nike SB’ pull tabs for quick and easy wearing. Signed off with a design matched ‘Nike SB’ oversized climbing patch sewn in place of the usual embroidery for a ‘90s inspired finish that honours the Acclimate pack’s all-season narrative and the design’s refreshing outdoor orientated guise.

Sharing the same vintage climbing gear detailing as the Nike SB Blazer Mid PRM, the Acclimate pack also includes both a short sleeve tee and long sleeve hooded sweater styled with active reference to the FW21 months. Crafted with a resilient 300gsm brushed back fleece composure, the Nike SB One Off Hoodie is a sportswear revised staple tailored to a relaxed fitting for elevated comfort, whilst the Nike SB Approach T-Shirts, available in shades of lobster red, noble green and rush orange, are midweight silhouettes crafted from 100% premium cotton and styled with the same ‘90s themed climbing patch graphic displayed across the reverse in honour of the pack’s explorative undertone and Nike SB’s confineless appeal.
