🇪🇺 Hélas, Wayward, Yardsale & Polar

European skate brands have been moving forward whilst looking back for inspiration from the sports clubs of the 1980's and 1990's. We have pulled together examples of this nostalgic flashback.

Lucas Puig and the Hélas Cap Club boys are prolific with their mixtapes and dropping imminently is their latest capsule collection. Inspired by The Usual Suspects, "Casual Suspects" has a clear sportswear aesthetic across all Caps, Beanies and Jackets as well as the two Anoraks with matching track pants (an obvious reference to sportswear). The icy white colour way really stands out to us.

A full collection from Wayward Wheels hardware company has just landed, featuring a monochrome colour palette with flashes of colour in violet and gold. More sporty vibes can be seen here with a Windbreaker, Sweatshirts, T-Shirts and Caps. Benny Fairfax (who is also part of the Hélas Club) is really pushing his Wayward brand forward with a bunch of great European skaters.

Closer to home, Londoners Yardsale are looking at modern skate culture through tropical 1980's lenses. A really strong visual aesthetic can be seen throughout their collections, what with them bringing back terry material track jackets alongside quarter zips and graphic T-Shirts.

Arguably the biggest contributors to this re-focusing on Europe is the Polar Skate Co. of Malmö, Sweden. They are consistently on point with their graphics, always pulling in styles and great references to their in house designs and guest collaborations such as Freak Face, Two Fine Boys and AMTK.

Europe is stronger together. 🇪🇺
