Adidas x Metropolitan Pullover Fleece

Taking cues from retro ‘90s hiking styles and race-kit uniforms, this Adidas x Metropolitan Pullover Fleece has a three-layer fully taped main body made from a combination of recycled and non-recycled polyester shearling fleece and features reflective nylon stripes. The collar neckline is raised for protection from the elements and a half zip fastening sits centrally underneath and allows for ventilation. The raglan sleeve shape allows for a greater range of movement and is accentuated by bright real magenta contrast piping and reflective three stripe decoration along the top edge. Across the chest an additional panel of polyester adds an extra detail to the design and provides a background for the adidas trefoil logo design, whilst hiding a large zipped chest pocket whilst below in large stylised ‘Metropolitan’ lettering has been applied in yellow tint coloured ink with ‘USA’ below. At the waist two zip secured pockets are available for securely carrying essential items and narrow elasticated trims wrap around the edge of the body and sleeve cuffs to help keep the fit secure when on the move. On the reverse the same smooth polyester as the front has been selected for a shaped insert at the shoulders.

Launched in 1994 by DLX, Metropolitan made a return in 2017 after it was revived by Keith Hufnagel and Hanni El Khatib who has made sure the revival remains true to the brands original vision and aesthetic with strong ‘90s inspired designs, seen especially in this second collaboration with sportswear giants adidas. Using a variety of technical and lightweight fabrics, the team has created a distinctive look for the collective which stands out from the crowd with strong east-coast vibes.
