This white edition of Polar’s The Cry T-Shirt is made from medium weight cotton and has been decorated with screen printed artwork on the front and reverse. The curved neckline has a flexible ribbed trim which supports comfort and fit retention during everyday wear and on the centre of the chest black handwritten text reads ‘Have you ever sat on an empty beach’ which has been pulled from California post-punk band The Cry’s 1990 track ‘Alone’. This design continues onto the reverse with a larger print showing more lyrics against a textured charcoal style background with a white cut out shape within the centre. Below this smaller text reads ‘The Cry - Alone’ which highlights the inspiration behind the design. For a clean finish the body and short sleeves have straight cut hems.
Having been featured on Polar’s creative skate videos such as ‘I Like It Here Inside My Mind, Don’t Wake Me This Time’ and the more recent collaborative short with Nike SB entitled ‘Polar Rico’, music from The Cry had a prominent impact on the alternative music scene during the early 1990’s and in appreciation of their sound, Polar Skate Co. founder Pontus has designed new artwork for winter ‘19 that depicts the song ‘Alone’.
