Seen here in a khaki colourway, the Kavu Strap Cap is a low profile hat that has been constructed with a focus on offering strength, comfort and protection. Made from durable heat laminated 100% cotton canvas, the crown is slightly structured and will mould to your head shape throughout time, constructed with hard-wearing seams that won’t weaken during repetitive wear. The curved peak uses sturdy polyurethane and is slightly curved and decorative jacquard taping connects the two sections. Continuing around the reverse, the fit of the hat can be secured using a plastic buckle and a loop sits alongside meaning the cap can be fastened to a belt or bag. The seams have been taped on the inside to reduce chafing and an additional padded section improves comfort around the forehead. The jacquard tape on each design varies in pattern and colour.
Designed to securely stay on your head whilst hiking, kayaking, sailing or any outdoor activity of your choice, the Strap Cap was the first style developed by Kavu during the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Constructed with close attention to detail with fabric, seam and shape the original design was inspired by founder Barry Barr losing his hats to the wind during fishing trips. The jacquard taping was inspired by early Tevo designs and has become a defining feature of the style.
