Carhartt x Motown Hoodie

This oversized black and white Carhartt x Motown Hoodie is made from a heavyweight blend of cotton and polyester and has been designed as part of a thirteen-piece capsule that celebrates the 60th anniversary of Motown Records. Designed for everyday wear and best suited to colder weather due to the cut and weight, the double layer hood can be adjusted using external black pullcords and at the waist a large kangaroo pouch pocket has been added with a woven label to the right side showing the famous Motown ‘M’ emblem above ‘Carhartt’ text in an iconic shade of purple associated with the record label. Across the top edge of the right sleeve bold stylised ‘Motown’ lettering has been printed in white and on the other sleeve in the same style ‘Carhartt’ has been added for an impactful look that signifies the collection. On the reverse the design continues through a large print of the same ‘M’ emblem in white above ‘Carhartt WIP Motown Records’ text and bolder ‘Detroit, MI’ lettering below. Wide ribbed trims wrap around the edge of the body and sleeves to encourage a secure fit whilst active.

This monochrome hoodie pays homage to the iconic impact of Motown music and the many musicians it has established since being founded in 1959 by Berry Gordy Jr. The likes of Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the Supremes and Stevie Wonder all recorded some of their best hits with the label and are continually celebrated for their soul and talent that remains just as impactful as when it was first released.
