Arriving as part of the 2019 adidas Rider series, this edition of the adidas Sabalo Shoes follow a loud solar red and semi solar slime colourway with a crisp white wrapped Bounce outsole. Co-designed with team rider Diego Nájera, the uppers are made from premium pigskin suede with contrasting top stitching at key areas that secures the internal adiPrene sockliner and on either side of the foot bold trefoil branding has been printed in black, accompanied by capitalised ‘Najera’ lettering underneath. Colour matched to suit the rest of the design, slim nylon laces offer a secure fastening on top of the tongue which has a breathable mesh lower section with a cushioned underside that wraps around the top of the foot. A semi solar slime coloured label has been attached onto the underside of the tongue showing signature adidas Sabalo branding.
Around the back of the heel a mesh insert provides further comfort and flexibility which works in tune with the sockliner and geo-flex outsole. Inspired by classic fish eye lense photography commonly seen on ‘90s skate videos, the layered outsole features a textural insert coloured in a semi solar slime tone with an additional textured panel around the front of the toes for abrasion resistance. Continuing the distinctive custom colour palette, the green herringbone tread pattern supplies a high-level of reliable skate focused grip for wear across a variety of terrains.
Making its debut in March 2019, the adidas Sabalo arrived in a super clean cream and white colourway selected by American pro rider Diego Nájera. A few colourways later and Nájera has added his personal touch to the silhouette once more for the adidas Rider series, which sees monthly installments of skate focused footwear designed by selected team rides.
