Taking cues from traditional tennis footwear and skateboarding during the ‘90s, the adidas Liberty Cups Shoes are a new silhouette that has been introduced as part of the Rider series. Designed with a noticeably chunky silhouette, flashes of hi-res yellow and teal blue sit against chalk white uppers split between mesh and smooth leather. Around the lower edge of the lace border, perforation has been added to increase breathability in addition to the top layer of mesh across the tongue. A woven label wraps around the top of the tongue bearing a ‘the brand with the 3 stripes’ graphic. Along the outer edge a beige coloured suede insert offers additional protection in this high wear area, whilst hi-res yellow piping accentuates its curved shape. Above a metallic gold adidas trefoil logo has been applied for a deluxe touch. Around the back of heel a synthetic insert has zig-zag top stitching for additional texture, and a vibrant suede overlay has been added above with a turquoise coloured pull tab for ease of entry.
Throughout the inside a textile lining has been added for comfort whilst a bounce midsole works in harmony with a vulc-wrapped cupsole to absorb shock. Made from textured rubber, the midsole is wider than conventional styles with a teal colour ollie patch insert above the grey tone tread pattern, designed with a repeat circular trefoil surface alongside a circular pivot point. These adidas Liberty Cup Shoes are equipped with an array of performance driven features. Inspired by skateboarding and tennis, which is reflected through custom detailing and the ‘90s style skate shoe silhouette, this style has a nostalgic yet forward thinking design that is sure to become a new favourite.
