Seen here in an all black colourway with a collegiate green tread, this edition of the adidas Liberty Cup has clean leather uppers, a TPU lace bar and luxe metallic gold branding. Perforation has been added on the toe vamp to encourage ventilation when active and the laces have been dyed black to suit the rest of the design, held in place by a sturdy TPU bar above a padded tongue. A square woven label sits close to the top edge of the tongue and shows ‘the brand with the three stripes’ lettering in a tone that matches the tread pattern and on the outer side of the foot a metallic gold trefoil emblem sits alongside ‘adidas’ lettering for signature branding. The ankle border is cushioned for comfort with a mesh fabric lining throughout and a woven pull tab on the back of the heel aids entry. The right side of the shoe has molded foxing which adds durability to this high wear area whilst also adding a distinctive look to the design. The textured rubber outsole is emphasised towards the heel and underfoot the collegiate green tread features midsole cushioning and multiple circle trefoil emblems alongside a pivot point for quality boardfeel and grip.
Influenced by the bulky look and feel of skate shoes during the late ‘90s the adidas Liberty Cup made its debut in the summer of 2019 and has since been reworked in a variety of colourways that utilise a combination of high quality materials that add to the designs nostalgic aesthetic. Incorporating the latest skate-driven features, the Liberty Cup demonstrates adidas’ ability to combine their brand heritage with forward thinking innovation.
