Staying in line with a design rooted in the sixties, the Vans Classic Slip-On 98 DX Anaheim Factory Shoes are part of a special release paying homage to their original Californian factory. The low top silhouette is made using animal free by-products resulting in a 100% vegan style. The design utilises an original colour palette, with big stripes of OG red and OG white while the lateral side panels are simply decorated with a Vans flag label. This bold upper is brought together by the white midsole, which is finished with the iconic Vans Off The Wall heel stamp. The shoe uses Vans’ traditional UltraCush sockliner for impact cushioning while skating, with the added benefit of a padded collar for comfort off the board. The classic waffle outsole provides both a multi-directional traction and supreme boardfeel.
The Vans Anaheim factory was founded in 1966, creating a legacy which will not go forgotten of the first ever skate-shoe company. It is in turn that they pay homage in this collection, referencing the original moulds used through the names (hence the “98”). Vans have since updated their collections with modern attributes as well as an expansive range of colours and products.
