Arguably, the original Jeff Staple Pigeon Dunk was the shoe that sparked the insurgence in sneaker culture: with campouts, reselling and unprecedented media documentation. It generated the hype that hadn’t been seen before and even caused mass hysteria, which led to the now infamous riots in NYC. 12 years have now passed since the OG Nike ‘NYC Pigeon’ and unless you have very deep pockets, chances are you'll never got hold of a pair. But now Nike SB have teamed up with Jeff Staple again to commemorate 15 years of the Nike SB Dunk and the 20th anniversary of the Jeff Staple Pigeon to bring you the Nike SB Dunk Low 'Black Pigeon'.
Its long awaited return does not fail to impress, sticking very close to the original shoe apart from this time in an all black colour-way with sienna accent and of course the signature Jeff Staple NYC Pigeon on the heel. In Jeff’s own words, the simple all black colour-way is a canvas to “just let the pigeon be the story” and it definitely succeeds.
The Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Black Pigeon’ features a nubuck upper crafted with Stetson Waterproof Leather to add superior utility to the shoe, an all black Swoosh and comes in a classic pink Nike SB shoe box, but let’s face it. It’s all about the pigeon.
