Carrying a distinctly old school aesthetic, these white and blue New Balance Numeric 213 Shoes have dual-layer canvas uppers with suede overlays at key abrasion areas and simplistic Numeric branding. For increased durability, around the front of the toes a beige coloured suede overlay has been added with an additional section at the ollie area which is reflected onto the other side with a plain fill. The tongue is held in place with white laces which thread through metal eyelets and a woven label sits close to the top edge showing a red ‘NB#’ logo. On either side of the foot cut out navy leather ‘N’ emblems add signature branding to the design and around the back of the heel a cut out panel reveals a leather inlay adorned with printed ‘new balance’ lettering. Throughout the inside a dense mesh fabric lining sits comfortably against the foot alongside a PU sockliner that provides impact protection and helps to maintain the fit. The outsole has been made using Ndurance rubber which stands up to repetitive abrasions with an additional gum section around the front of the toes and a herringbone tread pattern underfoot.
Requested by their own team athletes, New Balance Numeric have developed the 213 in response to demand for increased ankle support through their original Pro Court design which they’ve answered through a higher cut collar, constructed in two layers for better comfort and protection. Inspired by heritage New Balance designs, the combination of materials and selective colour palette results in an old school look that appeals to anyone seeking a classic aesthetic.
