Designed as part of Converse’s Renew project which looks at breathing new life into discarded denim and upcycling it into shoes, these Converse CTAS 70s Ox Renew Denim Shoes feature a mixture of dark, medium and light washed denim sourced in partnership with Beyond Retro UK. A darker shade of denim with contrasting coloured white top stitching constructs the outer panels, whilst two shades of lighter denim are used to mark both the inner panels as well as the tongue. Silver metal eyelets secure the flat white lacing into place with two additional eyelets at the inner of each shoe allowing for added ventilation during everyday wear. To keep the fit comfy, an internal fabric lining and a padded insole offers soft cushioning with each step. An off-white recycled rubber out and midsole marks the perimeter of the shoe and the signature toe cap whilst the design’s textured panelling, tread design and rear monochrome Converse All Star Chuck Taylor Renew patch embodies all there is to love about Converse’s playful energy.
Following on from the Converse Renew debut models that were constructed from recycled plastic bottles, this collective collaboration with UK based vintage store Beyond Retro is designed to challenge the way we think about utilising discarded fabrics and materials. This line of denim shoes transforms vintage jeans into classic-styled shoes which guarantees each pair their very own unique personality and lifestyle history.
