Carhartt x Motown T-Shirt

As part of a thirteen-piece capsule collection that celebrates the history and sound of Motown Records, this Carhartt x Motown T-Shirt is made from 100% cotton and features a collaborative logo design printed in large on the front. Applied in the labels famous shade of purple, the print shows the Motown ‘M’ emblem in large above ‘Carhartt’ text in the same tone which both cover the majority of the chest. For comfort the curved neckline has a wide flexible ribbed trim whilst the body and short sleeves have straight cut hems for a clean look. The reverse is plain and on the inner nape of the neck a woven collaborative label has been added.

Founded in Detroit, USA by Berry Gordy Jr in 1959 the Motown record label is responsible for establishing celebrated musicians such as Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5 and Marvin Gaye and this year celebrates its 60th anniversary. Recognised for reshaping the sound of American pop music and diversifying soundwaves, key tracks from the labels golden era are referenced across artwork within the capsule which is accompanied by a strictly Motown mix put together by Moodyman for Carhartt that includes rare b-sides, interviews and live recordings from iconic artists.
