A fresh silhouette from Carhartt for FW19, the OG Arctic Coat is an essential for winter having been made from 100% organic cotton ‘Dearborn’ canvas. The original loose fit offers generous room for layering options, with a diamond quilted lining for improved insulation during the cooler months (something added to by rib-knit storm cuffs). Triple stitching has been used on the seams for a durable finish that reflects the brand’s workwear heritage, additionally a corduroy top collar has been added for a quality build. Final functional details include a hidden zip closure and front-facing hand pockets. The body has been dressed in duck egg blue, contrasted by a small square label on the left chest.
Organic cotton has been used as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cotton, restricting the use of fertilizers and pesticides for improved soil and water quality in the communities that grow the product. This season shows a debut of the ever growing range of organic products.
