Cut to an original loose fit, Carhartt have updated their iconic Detroit Jacket for summer by adding a polyester mesh lining that encourages ventilation. The outer is made from sturdy organic cotton with a water repellent finish whilst the pointed collar neckline has been cut from fine wale corduroy which adds subtle texture to the design. The front is fastened by a full length metal zip which allows for additional ventilation and on the left side of the chest a zippered pocket is available for storing small essential items with a square woven brand label underneath. Additional pockets can be found on either side of the waist and on the inside of the jacket. The long sleeves have snap button cuffs with additional fastenings on either side of the waist so the fit can be resized to suit. Triple stitched seams can be found across the style for a high level of durability.
As one of Carhartt’s core outerwear styles which has stood the test of time in its classic look and heavy duty construction, the Detroit Jacket has a place within history as a famous workwear style that captures the brand’s rich heritage in manufacturing practical and purposeful apparel. Founded in 1994 Carhartt’s WIP line was developed through the original Detroit family owned label which was established in 1889.
