Snow Peak; Tradition, Craft and Legacy

Cutting right to the very centre of their history, their product range and even their ideology; the Snow Peak brand are producers of the very highest quality hardware designed to compliment your pursuit of the great outdoors. In their own words they "look to manufacturer with such high quality standards that you'll pass them on to the next generation like a great wrist watch". You can achieve quite some sense of fulfilment from something as simple as making a coffee in the wilderness. The new range of hardware that they have produced wont just aid this, it is just the kind of thing you want to hold onto.

Snow Peak's journey began in 1958, when their founder Yukio Yamai, an accomplished mountaineer, created his own line of superior gear out of the dissatisfaction with available products. They keep this in their minds when sitting down at the drawing board to create their next piece of outdoor gear. It's pretty simple really, just ensure it is superior.

Snow Peak's employees are unified by a common goal: to be the world’s leading manufacturer of exceptional natural lifestyle products. We'll leave it to you to judge, but we're pretty sold.

Just landed. Sneeze Magazine No. 22

Advanced warning. The new issue of Sneeze Magazine has just landed and you know how quickly it sells out.

Number twenty Two; "the deal with it issue"

As always, full-color, unbound, poster-sized. The magazine broadens its horizons beyond the world of skateboarding in this issue with a cover shoot of the Crypt Keeper from HBO’s Tales from the Crypt shot by Kenneth Cappello.

That and plenty more in full colour on those plus size pages.

Stefan Janoski Max drop

Nike SB have began this week dropping the latest editions of their hugely popular Stefan Janoski Max signature footwear.

These new editions have a solid Black mesh upper (previous editions have used a jaqcard 'camo' knit mesh) with an overlaying knitted panel in one of three contrasting colourways.

The first of the three colourways to land with us is the popping Black-Volt/Ivory. The knit is in a black and electrifying lime colour that definitely has yellow hues in the mix. All three will again utilise the paint splattered soles, giving that nice random element to each pair.

The other two colourways, Black-Photo Blue/Ivory and Black-Purple Haze/Ivory will be landing imminently, keep an eye on the latest section for their arrival.

Introducing; Hard Luck MFG

New to Flatspot is the Hard Luck MFG brand and a collection of apparel and hardware.

Hard Luck was started after Mark Gonzales, a long time friend of Jason Jessee, drew a skull with a pen and wrench on an envelope and told Jason he should turn it into a company. It's not always that easy, but they have evolved grown and grown and where as the brand was originally only available in Japan, it is now available world-wide and right here at Flatspot.

Famed for their bearings, Hard Luck have assembled a team of the "raddest and fastest dudes in skateboarding" who were in need of a suitably high performance bearing that could withstand all weather conditions.

Hard Luck bearings are made for skateboarding by skateboarders.

This new Skyline drop of Nike SB Dri-FIT is all about enhancing your time skating. Nike SB have worked with the best of their skating team to produce a range of classic cut clothing with some subtle tech extras.

They are all made from soft sweat-wicking jersey fabric and have mesh panels in the back and under the arms to enhance airflow; you know, cool you down. They're cut with a dropped hem at the back to provide better coverage during falls and the long-sleeve T-Shirts are Raglan sleeves with thumbholes for a fit that stays put.

It's like they've thought this stuff through...

Cons Project at Berlin Fashion Week

It was great to stop past the Cons Project in Berlin last week as part of the BRIGHT trade show during fashion week. It was really well attended with skaters Kenny Anderson, Pontus Alv, Jake Johnson, Brian Delatorre and Jerome Campbell all making appearances.

In the lead up to fashion week Cons had promised that it would be a "an epic night of skateboarding on nine crazy, modular, metal obstacles!".

You can watch a re-cap of the competition and those wild metal structures over on the BRIGHT website.
