Launched in 1987, thanks to the rising popularity of sport personalities such as All-Star athlete Bo Jackson and tennis figurehead John McEnroe, the OG Air Trainer 1 was a cross-training sneaker originally styled to address the multifunctionality of demanding training schedules. Resurfacing in 2012 and again in 2020 through a black, white and blue coloured release designed in partnership with Polar Skate Co., the Nike Air Trainer 1’s legacy is one that has yet to cease evolving. Adhering to the rising popularity of ‘80s and ‘90s throwback colourways, this latest addition to Nike SB’s growing Dunk Low listing turns its attention to the iconic colouring that rocketed the Air Bladder integrated Air Trainer 1 to fame. Arriving as an archive-influenced release, the Dunk Low Pro ‘Chlorophyll’ celebrates ‘90s Nike DNA alongside an appreciation for classic Nike SB design.

Last visited in 2020 under Nike SB, the Nike SB Air Trainer 1 now shares its instantly recognisable aesthetic with the Nike SB ‘Chlorophyll’ Dunk Low Pro. Retaining the same perforated premium white leather forefoot and midfoot underlays as its ‘87 sibling, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro is styled with two tone brushed suede overlays, a colour matched full length cupsole and both an integrated Zoom Air unit and a circular underfoot tread. The increased perforations provide a breathable wear in place of the Dunk’s usual design, whilst the interchangeable white and black laces secure the padded ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Pro’ tongue in place through the recessed seven eyelet lacing system. Black suede Swooshes remain true to tradition across each midfoot, with green stitch ‘Nike’ branding across each heel complemented by tonal trims across each tongue.
