Big Sky Blue
Proudly labelled as Patagonia’s lowest carbon footprint t-shirt, this Line Logo Ridge Pocket Responsibili-Tee T-Shirt is made from a blend of recycled cotton and postconsumer recycled polyester which has been dyed to a big sky blue colourway. The body has been cut to a regular fit, the curved neckline has a flexible ribbed trim for comfort and the shoulder seams have been taped to help retain the fit over time. Screen printed using PVC and phthalate-free inks, on the left side of the chest ‘Patagonia’ lettering has been printed in black on top of a small patch pocket and on the reverse a larger design shows a rework of the brands famous mountain logo with a multicoloured background, etched contours and bold ‘Patagonia’ text underneath. The body and short sleeves have straight cut hems for a clean finish.
For each of these t-shirts made 0.26 pounds of fabric scrap and 4.8 discarded bottles have been put to good use that would otherwise have been sent to landfill, in turn this system uses 96% less water and creates 45% less CO2 than a conventional cotton t-shirt. Additionally Fair Trade Certification has been awarded to the construction which means the maker has earned a premium for their labour.
