The Swoosh brands latest collaboration houses some key pieces, with the Nike SB x NBA Bruin Ultra in Bubblegum / Bubblegum - University Red being a major player. Originating as one of Nike’s first court sneakers in 1972, the Bruin has seen a revamp for this season coming in the form of the Bruin Ultra, retooled for skateboarding functionality. Crafted in a suede upper which has been optimised, features include a Nike Zoom midsole for comfortable all day skating, rubber outsole accented with the Nike SB herringbone tread pattern and signed off with a mini embroidered Swoosh on the upper.
The enduring influence of basketball on skateboarding remains intact and Nike’s celebration of the two cultures with distinct style crossovers highlights classic silhouettes and cuts, with no sacrifice on functionality. The Nike SB x NBA Bruin Ultra looks just as at home on the streets as it does the court.
