Nike SB Eric Koston Huarache Shoes
Eye catching issue of Eric Koston's Huarache pro model on Nike SB. Conceived in Obsidian upper with fluoro Huarache tech and detail.
The upper's strong nubuck is unusually texture printed with a pebbled overlay. Giving it a tonal patterning reminiscent of the safari. Obsidian has been contrasted with fluoro cyber in this shoe. This colour has been applied to Huarache strap, signature tongue pull and Lunarlon insole text. Combined with the white cupsole and gum tread, the whole concept really works.
Koston's Huarache has been developed by the iconic skater with strength, durability and hold of the foot in mind. Materials are hard wearing as is the cupsole. Huarache strap and integral mesh booty really fit it to the foot.
Where by most other meshes used in this context from SB are a solid mesh, that used in the Koston is different. On closure inspection a wide holed rubber trellis has been sandwiched between two mesh layers. It has more spring to it, keeping it around the foot. At the same time having a more open structure adding greater ventilation.
A huge archive of influences are evident here in Eric's signature designed shoe. Demonstrating the depth of his love for Nike's heritage and history. The guy is just a straight up sneaker head...as well as one of the greatest skaters of all time.
