Arriving as a revamped version of the Quincy 254, these black and brown New Balance Numeric 255 Shoes are a reliable skate style made from a blend of suede, canvas and rubber. The uppers have been constructed in two parts with a curved overlay towards the front of the foot which provides a base for the gold lace eyelets, and bold leather ‘N’ emblems have been added on either side coloured in brown with a white outline. Subtle perforation can be found above the front of the toes for ventilation. The cotton laces have been colour matched to suit the rest of the design and encase the cushioned fabric tongue which has a white tip and a woven New Balance Numeric label. A slim line of leather curves under the edge of the ankle between the top lace eyelet and the heel, and a brown leather overlay on the back of the foot provides a background for printed ‘new balance’ text.
This style is lined with soft breathable textile and an updated heel fit is a key feature of the model. The foxing tape strip has been redesigned whilst the tread has a pattern of varying density which supplies a reliable amount of grip across different terrains. Taking cues from heritage styles and performance footwear, New Balance have introduced the 255 to their Numeric range as a go-to skate ready shoe with a simple, low-key aesthetic.
