The Converse CTAS 70's Hi Shoes have updated the legendary silhouette using a durable canvas upper finished in a subtle parchment colour. The rubber toe cap and midsole is finished in high gloss, with contrasting red and blue trims to add minimalist hits of colour. The heel features a black branded rubber stamp, while final details include Chuck Taylor All Star branding on the side of the shoe. Despite such a minimalist style, the updated silhouette has allowed for technical modernisations. The rubber toe cap improves durability in a traditionally high-stress area, with canvas being additionally strengthened. An Ortholite insole has been added to provide superior levels of impact cushioning without impacting weight.
The CTAS 70’s were originally released in the late 1960’s, with a re-release appearing on shelves in 2013. This variant differs from the original featuring thicker canvas, a higher rubber midsole and foxing, thicker cushioning and a smaller toe cap. Although its roots are in basketball, the Chuck Taylor All Stars have comfortably transitioned into a leading skate shoe.
