Featuring an array of screen printed graphics across both sleeves, the chest and reverse, this black Carhartt x Motown Sublabels Long Sleeve T-Shirt is made from super soft cotton and has a flexible ribbed trim across its curved neckline that supports comfort and fit retention during everyday wear. Paying homage to the iconic artists and sound of the Motown Record label a selection of colourful icons, playful typography and illustrations have been printed along the top of either sleeve in tones of green, pink, yellow and orange to stand out from the dark fabric background. On the left side of the chest the famous Motown ‘M’ emblem has been printed in white within an outlined square with the ‘Carhartt’ text logo underneath. The design continues on the reverse through stylised ‘Solid Soul’ text in white and blue above a large text piece about the history of Motown and a selection of square logos underneath.
Founded by Berry Gordy Jr in 1959 in Detroit, USA Motown is responsible for establishing artists such as Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson 5 and Stevie Wonder who were all part of an iconic movement within musical history that reshaped the sound of American pop music and diversified soundwaves. In homage of this, Carhartt have designed a thirteen-piece capsule of t-shirts, sweats and accessories that pay tribute to the artists, sound and style of the label which this year celebrates its 60th anniversary.
