Nathaniel Russell is an Indianapolis based artist and musician, working mostly in freehand illustration, painting and graphic design. Nathaniel's work has been featured internationally in solo and group exhibitions in San Francisco, New York, London, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Tokyo. After receiving an undergraduate degree in print making, he spent several years in the bay area making posters, album covers and woodcuts. He now lives and works between Indianapolis and Northern California.
His most recent exhibition "the opposite of lost" was held at the indianapolis museum of contemporary art and featured a series of "fake flyers" he's made in recent years. The flyers, along with a lot of Nathaniel's work seem humorous and light-hearted on the surface, with deeper elements of sentimentality.
